On November 16, 1974 a digitally encoded schematic (below) was beamed from the world’s largest single-dish radio telescope in Arecibo, Puerto Rico after decision from SETI to celebrate the telescope upgrade. 20 terawatt transmission at 2380MHz, was aimed at the globular star cluster M13, some 25,000 light-years away, in the constellation of Hercules, near the edge of our galaxy. The message consisted of 1679 pulses in binary code, which, as a product of two prime numbers 23 and 72, makes the massage easy to display as a matrix 23 cells wide and 72 cells high in which each cell is either full or empty, thus forming a singular image.
Arecibo
message included basic data which describe our environment, such as numbers from
1 to 10 (decimal number system - left end of the image), atomic numbers for
hydrogen, carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, phosphorus (elements that compose living
matter - second column), formulas for sugar and nucleotides of DNA (third,
fourth, fifth and sixth columns), number of nucleotides in DNA (bar between two
spirals) and it’s double helix (spirals), figure and the height of human
(above the human figure), number of inhabitants of the Earth at the time message
was sent (4.6 billion - below the human figure), simplified solar system
representation with offset Earth indicating where we are (third column from the
right), Arecibo telescope dish representation and it’s diameter (at the right
end).
As the speed of radio waves in vacuum is limited to the speed of light and as used radio beam was very narrow, nobody was expecting any kind or reply for at least next 40.000 years.
On August 17, 2001, two large and unique images were found imprinted on crops beside another radio telescope - Chilbolton, near Wherwell in Hampshire, United Kingdom. One image depicted a replica of the schematic contained in Arecibo 1974 transmission. It's image shown above was made by renown crop circle photographer, Lucy Pringle, to whose site is linked. The other crop image was that of a humanoid face. The reply schematic, or Arecibo reply glyph, was subtly different from the original that was transmitted in 1974.
According to the first assessment by the crop circle researcher
Paul Vigay, reply message differs from original in the following points: silicon atomic number is inserted among other elements which compose live matter, there is one additional DNA strand, number of nucleotides is changed, image of human is replaced by that of 1 meter tall being with a small body and big head, on the solar system representation third, fourth, fifth and sixth planets are highlighted, population value is set to 8.5 billion, the Arecibo telescope dish was substituted by a representation of August 14, 2000 crop circle which was found on the same spot and it’s diameter was, of course, changed.At this time Mr. Vigay is undecided and prefers not to comment, but to share his findings.
On
the other hand, Richard Hoagland, leading investigator of The
Enterprise Mission and leading expert on the Face on Mars outside the NASA, in
his interview on Art Bell’s Coast to
Coast show on 08-24-2001
said that he is of the opinion that the alien glyph shows who we are.
It shows that we have came from the fourth and the fifth planet of our solar system, of which Mars was only a moon, and which have disappeared in collision around 500.000 years ago, creating that, what is now known as the asteroid belt between mars and Jupiter. As the consequence of this event Mars was instrumental in a number of planetary interactions before it has settled in his current orbit. One of those was that it gave almost all of its seawater to the Earth. According to Richard Hoagland, portrait glyph shows how we were looking at that time.
Bruce Cornet in his analysis states that the original Arecibo message contained, probably intentional, mistakes in the code of DNA nucleotides, Deoxyribose, Adenine, and Guanine, which were not corrected by the creators of the reply glyph (visible on jet another Lucy Pringle's image above, in front of the Chilbolton radio telescope), indicating their ignorance on this subject, which could mean that they were hoaxers. Few days after publication of his article, a letter of research biologist was included in it that states that the central part of the Chilbolton pictogram shows that a DNA double helix as found on Earth, with 10 base pairs per turn, has been replaced on one side by a novel single-stranded helix with just 6 bases per turn. To unknown author the clear implication of this is that 2', 5' RNA may represent an alternative system of genetic coding to 3', 5' RNA or DNA as found on Earth; and that the makers of the Chilbolton pictogram wished us to understand that fact.
Cornet concludes that is is all hoax aimed to foster never confirmed urban legends about grays and alien abductions.
I also believe that It is so, but in somewhat different manner.
In his further analysis Hoahland demonstrates that in 1969, the late Ben Volcani, a renowned microbiologist at the Scripps Institution for Oceanography, has pointed out that without silicon we would have rubbery skeletons and couldn’t stand erect in Earth’s gravity.
He further correctly notes that apparent mistakes in the code of DNA nucleotides, which Cornet points to, disappear if nucleotides are viewed as a part of a structure and not as standalone elements.So, when original Arecibo message was composed, the important role of silicon was already known. It is was not introduced in it because it does not make part of elements which are necessary to build Terrestrial DNA. Sentient life here crawls also.
On 09-04-2001, Helen Pearson has announced on Rense.com that Peter Fromherz and Gunther Zeck of the Max Planck Institute for Biochemistry in Munich placed snail nerve cells on a silicon chip, fencing them in place with microscopic plastic pegs. Neighboring cells grew connections with each other and with the chip. A stimulator beneath each nerve cell created a change in voltage that triggered an electrical impulse to travel through the cell. Electrical pulses applied to the chip passed from one nerve cell to another, and back to the chip to trip a silicon switch. The circuit literally went live.
This event makes a picture of presumed sender of the glyph complete.
